Teacher Benefits

 

Mentoring Program: PHMTA members participate in a mentoring program to aid new members. Those wishing to be mentored should contact the PHMTA president.

 

Library: We have a library of books, cassette tapes, compact disk's, videos, music games and sheet music available to members on various teaching subjects.

 

Referrals: Our referral chairperson  keeps a list of current teachers who have openings. This can be very beneficial if you are new to the area.

 

Conference: The Michigan Music Teachers Association hosts an excellent fall conference for members and guests.

 

Certification: Members of the PHMTA are eligible to apply for state and national professional certification.

 

Publications: American Music Teacher is MTNA's award winning bimonthly journal. The MMTA publishes the MMT newsletter quarterly. These are included as part of your membership.

 

Insurance: Special group rates on a variety of health insurance plans are available.
